Specification

The contract includes the installation of 194 Nr specialist columns, supplied by the customer, the installation of over 3500m of ducting within verges and footways and 9500m of cable, from the Wellington Memorial to Marble Arch.

The site compound which contains not only site offices, welfare facilities and storage for the new columns, ducting and equipment, hosts one of the most famous address in London.

There were a number of restrictions placed on DW Projects as main contractor such as noise levels and working times due mainly to being directly outside world class hotels and residential properties, as well as one of the main commuter routes for both cars and buses.

During commencement of the project numerous additional works were carried out, including the installation of two private cable networks totalling over 1500m of ducting within busy footpaths and live carriageways.

We also had to work closely with EDF as many of the columns required new connections for which DW Projects provided civils and management solutions for.

Due to the nature of the works potential problems with existing services and structures had to be overcome on a daily basis.
