CCTV INSTALLATION, M1 JUNCTIONS 6a-10

DW have erected 126 pole mounted cameras, 92 with pan tilt and zoom capability
    and 34 static cameras covering the entire 17km scheme including motorway
    junctions and the M10 motorway.

The cameras are fitted on either 10 metre or 15 metre rigid or fold down columns,
    and are heated to prevent misting.

All equipment is manufactured to the Highways Agency specification. Other
    external equipment, including fibre optic cable installation and jointing was also
    undertaken by DW Projects.

Recordings are made on DVD’s rather than the standard VCR to enhance
    recording, quality and increase recording time before the DVD’s have to be
    changed. DVD’s also use less storage space than videos.

Ergonomic design of control room increases the comfort level of the control room
    operators.
