DW Lighting maintains thousands of lighting units to numerous local authorities under various types and styles of contract. These contracts comprise of relatively short (3 years) terms, through to 10 years plus Best Value, and 25 year PFI contracts. The majority of these include Capital Works Schemes as an integral part of the contract.

Our services include:

Partnering

DW is recognised for the ground breaking way it builds open partnerships with clients, business partners and suppliers. A partnering ethos is introduced in all our contracts, with jointly developed and monitored Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s). Based on the EFQM Excellence Model, we encourage co-location, cross-fertilisation of skills, shared knowledge and focused training.

PFI

DW has invested considerably in developing its PFI projects and capabilities. From qualification to the final phase, contract finalisation and mobilisation, the Company offers integrated solutions in terms of funding, customer interface, design & construction capabilities and operation & maintenance of the scheme. DW was the first company to be awarded a street lighting PFI scheme (pathfinder lighting PFI Contract for the London Borough of Brent in 1999).

The Company has more recently secured 25 year PFI contracts in Barnet - 35,000 lighting points, Enfield - 25,000 lighting points, Lambeth - 15,000 lighting points, and Redcar & Cleveland – 22,000 lighting points.

Citegestion

A state-of-the-art, web-enhanced asset management system enables DW to computerise all tasks relating to the operation and maintenance of the lighting stock.

From the client side, the authority will have real-time access to the system via the internet. They are able to monitor performance indicators, providing them with detailed knowledge of their assets and to ensure a reliable and transparent record of all events is captured.

It is innovative approaches such as these that have earned DW enviable ratings from auditors for exceeding the standards set by local authorities.
